CHRISTIAN FUNERAL was received by Elsie Neuman on October 27, 2011. Burial was in our church cemetery. Pastor Bergelin officiated. May God comfort the Neuman family.
BAPTISM – Autumn Renee Saltz became God’s child through Holy Baptism on Saturday evening, Oct. 29, 2011. Autumn was born on August 21, 2011. She is the daughter of Holly and David Saltz. Her sponsors are Julie Boettcher and Rick Lisowe. Pastor Bergelin officiated.
TRANSFER OUT – Jennifer Law and children, Eli and Tatum to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Sun Prairie, WI
THANKSGIVING WORSHIP – Our special Thanksgiving Worship services this year will be Wednesday, November 23 at 7:00 PM and Thanksgiving Day at 9:30 AM. The Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at both services. The Savior invites you to set one of these times aside this Thanksgiving Season.
ST. MARK’S CANNED FOOD DRIVE – We will again be collecting canned food items for the St. Mark’s Food Pantry in Sheboygan. They will again be collected the Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 20, at both services. At a designated time in the service, individuals will be asked to bring those food items forward. You can also bring the food items to one of our Thanksgiving Services. Please make sure these items are non-perishable and are not outdated. C.W.F. will take them to the Food Pantry.
PIZZA FUNDRAISER – We will be having our annual pizza fundraiser on Saturday, November 12. Pizza will be made in the early AM and can be picked up on that same day from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. in the church basement. Order sheets have been put in your church mailboxes, but if you need more or can’t get out, please call the church office, 565-3669, and place your order. Forms should be returned no later than November 6, 2011. It takes a lot of help to make the pizzas. We make over 1,500 pizzas. Everyone can help in some way, young and old. There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex. Let’s make this the best year ever! We could also use large paper grocery bags.
A NOTE FROM TRINITY QUILTERS – We have made a total of 184 quilts this year. They were sent with the Lutheran World Relief Drive the end of October. We work on Monday afternoons for approx. 3 hours and there are about 8 women doing this. Much work is also done in our homes preparing quilts to be sewn. We worked approx. 1640 total hours. We want to thank the men who taped the boxes for shipping. We invite any of our congregation to come and see what we do and hope that some may want to join us on Monday afternoons. Thank you for all who furnished us with materials needed to make these quilts. It was much appreciated.
ADVENT BY CANDLELIGHT – The program was accepted very well last year, and we would like to invite all women including your young daughters to this years ‘Advent By Candlelight.’ The program is scheduled for December 4, 2011 at 7:00 pm. The event is meant to help prepare your heart and mind for the advent season through reflection on the different candles in the advent wreath and the enjoyment of special music. There will also be a time for fellowship over a lovely dessert. As a guest, you will be placed at a table assigned with a hostess, who will provide the table arrangement and the dessert. This is a free event, so invite all the women you know and come enjoy the Christmas season! This is a formal dress event. We will be needing hostesses, volunteers and persons who are willing to provide special music. If you are interested, or need more information, please call Robie Scharinger at 920-565-2797. Or you can call the church office, 565-3669. We need to see how many people are interested! Thank You!

PRAYER CHAIN
“GIVE THANKS FOR EVERYTHING”
Let God’s positive promises outweigh our negative doubts. In all things God works for our good. Even when it looks bad it will turn out for good. Therefore Paul can say, “Give thanks in all circumstances.” That’s one way of following the encouragement to “pray continually.” Simply change the complaint list into a thanksgiving list!
Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,
always giving thanks to God the Father for everything,
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5:20)
Sometimes we are thankful for blessings, but not thankful enough to share them with others. Forgive us for this, Lord.
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise,
the fruit of lips that confess his name. And do not forget to do good
and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. (Hebrews 13:15-16)
The Prayer Chain by way of e-mail is waiting for your requests. Anyone wishing a prayer request should e-mail the prayer to prayer.chain4u@yahoo.com. For those who don’t have e-mail, call the church office, 565-3669.

THANKSGIVING PIE
Take one measure of thankfulness and thoroughly sift out all lumps of sin. Add selfishness with a Calvary sieve. Add one heaping measure of patience and moisten with water of God’s Work until dough is pliable enough to stretch without tearing. Fit into heart-shaped container and bake at highest heat until very firm. Then fill with the following:
Combine seven measures of God’s mercy with one heartful of God’s love. Blend in one full individual realization of unqualified grace, and stir well. Then fold in the following ingredients, one at a time, alternating each addition with a generous measure of praise:
1 measure of health (past or present) 1 ray of SONlight
1 measure of family 1 whisper of hope
1 measure of friends 1 heartful of God’s peace
After all ingredients are combined, pour into prepared crust. Allow to settle and smooth out top with a meringue of pure joy. Then serve to the LORD.
