Dear Friends in Christ,
In the month of February we mark the beginning of another Lenten season with Ash Wednesday being on February 22. Thus begins the weekly opportunity to ponder in our hearts the Savior’s deep love for us by willingly going to the cross, pouring out His blood, dying in our place, so we could be in heaven with Him when our lives on this earth are over. Such love has no equal. Such love is really beyond our full comprehension, yet that is exactly the deep love Christ has for you and me. I won’t even fully understand this until I get to heaven and experience the joy of eternal life firsthand. “SEE HIS CROSS” is the theme of our Wednesday this year. Each week we will be invited to look at the cross from a little different perspective always seeing the loving Savior. I plead with you to not let these special worship opportunities pass you by.
We also in February will have our special annual Lutheran High Sunday on February 26th. This year the LHS Chamber Choir will be with us here at Trinity. We give thanks to our Lord for blessing us with a school where God’s Word can be openly talked about and discussed on a daily basis. Having the opportunity this year, to lead a weekly Bible Study with the LHS faculty on Wednesday mornings prior to the beginning of the school day. I am in constant awe of these individuals as I sit in on their faculty meetings and see firsthand their caring Christ-centered love for their students. It is amazing how every student is treated with such dignity, care, and respect. I wish all could see just once what I am able to witness each Wednesday morning. They are united to bring out the best in each student to prepare them for life with strong academics, and I prepare them for eternity with Christ-centered teaching. If you or someone you know might be interested in LHS or in learning more about the school, just let me know.
May our dear Lord bless our special opportunities in February.
